We again attended the Quisqueya Branch today (Sunday). We arrived about 8:30. The services begin at
9:00. We were very impressed to see some
of the primary aged girls mopping out the water that collects in the entryway
from each rain ( which is most everyday).
They are so cute. When they saw me get ready to take a picture, they
immediately stopped and posed. They were all smiles and did the work quite
happily.
After the services I taught two of the primary aged boys a
lesson on the keyboard. (They both have keyboards at home). So I will be doing that each week and
hopefully they will practice and learn quickly so the branch will have someone
to play for the services. They are both
quite bright and very interested.
A couple of the young girls were interested in my scriptures
and my shoes. One said she could give me a dollar to buy shoes for her like
mine. (How nice it would be if things were that inexpensive ha ha ha) They all
wear sandals here and so do I usually but to church I have been wearing my
church shoes.
Most of the children have scriptures but they liked the ones
I have better. Carlos is thinking of a way that the flooding situation could be
alleviated some by orgainizing a work day some Saturday and the members can dig
a trench in front of the entryway.
Anyway there is lots to be done and lots of ideas generating in our
heads. hee hee hee
Asistimos
de nuevo a la ramita de Quisqueya hoy.
LLegamos a las 8:30. Los servicios comienzan a las 9:00. Sentimos muy impresionados ver a unas niñas
de la edad de la primaria trapeando el piso en la entrada que llena con agua
durante las lluvias que vienen casí todos los días. Son tan chulas. Cuando me
vieron por empezar sacar una foto, inmediatamente pararon trapeando y posaron. Sus caras estaban llenas
de sonrisas e hicieron el trabajo muy
contentas.
Después de los servicios, yo les enseñé una
clase del teclado a dos niños de la edad de la primaria. Ambos tienen teclados
en la casa. Así que estaré dando una clase a ellos cada semana. Espero que
practicaran y aprendieran rapidamente para que la ramita pueda tener alguien
para tocar durante los servicios. Ambos son muy listos e interesados.
Una par de
niñas estaban interesadas en mis escrituras y mis zapatillos. Una me pidio si
ella me diera un dolar podría yo le comprara zapatillos como míos. Que bueno
sería si las cosas fueran tan baratas ja ja ja..... Todos llevan puestos sandalias aquí y yo
también pero a la iglesia he sido llevando puesto mis zapatillos para la
iglesia.
La mayoría
de los niños tienen sus canónicos pero a ellos les gustan más los de mios.
Carlos está
pensando de una manera cómo la situación de la inundación podría ser disminuido
poquito y está pensando de ofrecer su apoyo de organizar un día de trabajo un
sábado y los miembros pueden escabar un foso en frente de la entrada. De todas maneras hay mucho que hacer y muchas
nuevas ideas reposando en nuestras cabezas. jee jee jee
